Joan Halpert is a professional Costume Designer and Dance Instructor, having worked in both professional theatres, such as The Company Theatre, Norwell, Ma, Lyric Stage, Boston, Ma, The Muppets, Inc., NY, The Publick Theatre, NY, and in the academic world including, Williams College, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and Boston University. For the past thirty-six years, Ms. Halpert was a faculty member of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Stonehill College , creating the Dance Program and teaching Dance, Costume Design and costume related classes. She was the Advisor for the Stonehill College Dance Club.

Her costume designs have received national recognition numerous times at the American College Theatre Festival, JFK Center, Washington, D.C. Ms. Halpert Costume Designs and actualized costumes were exhibited at five different museums.

For several years she was a panel member for The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth symposium, “Career Opportunities in Theatre” Ms. Halpert started performing again recently. She directed and acted in a Zoom production of The Investigation, performed in a spoken word production of Voices Rising's Lifting As We Climb, worked as an extra on the Disney film, Godmothered, and narrated a multimedia piece, I know Why the Caged Bird Sings, which included dance, choral and instrumental pieces.

As the mother of 3 adult children, Ms. Halpert is also the loving daughter of her 98 year-old mother.
