Suzanne Miville (aka Miss Sue)
February 24, 1956 - June 11, 2018
Suzanne Miville, "Miss Sue", beloved music teacher, pianist, and theater director, passed away on June 11, 2018 at Rose Monihan Hospice home after a brief illness. She was surrounded by dear friends 24 hours a day through the end.
Sue was predeceased by her mother Grace Monique (Casse) Miville, and her father Paul J. Miville Sr. She leaves behind three brothers, Paul J. Miville Jr. of Auburn, MA, Thomas R. Miville and wife Melinda, of Oxford, MA, and Daniel R. Miville of Worcester, MA; her sister Peggy St. Armand of Brookfield, MA; her nieces and nephews Samantha (Miville) Wysong, Timothy, Joseph, Matthew, Emily, and Kirsten Miville; and her faithful cats Molly and Grace.
Sue attended Holy Name Central Catholic High School, Lowell State College, and Worcester State College where she received her BA in English. While working at Girls Incorporated as a young adult, she founded the children's theater group Peter Pan Players and directed hundreds of musicals with elementary through high school students between 1975 and 2001. Sue taught at St. Mary's for 8 years, and recently retired from The Worcester Public Schools, where she taught for 18 years. She ran summer theater programs at Holy Name and St Peter Marian, and a family theater program at Camp Kinneywood.
Sue was well known for her bright spirit, infinite wit, ferocious sense of humor, exceptional musicianship, inspiring lesson plans, and generous heart. Wherever she went, she created a safe space for people to express themselves. Sue was an extraordinary pianist and singer, avid quilter, photographer, and gifted artist. She loved nature, The Wizard of Oz, gargoyles, and Native American flute. She will always be remembered by the countless of students and friends whose lives she enriched.

Memorial Robe
Our robe presentation is based upon Broadway’s Legacy Robe.
Our “robe” is actually a garment that was created by Miss Sue herself for a production of “Joseph and the amazing technicolor Dreamcoat”.
The Sue Miville Memorial Robe was first given in 2018. The Robe is given to the cast member who goes above and beyond what is expected of them on-stage. (The one exception has been
Chuck Grigaitis who was the director of “Cabaret”.)
